Vestry Minutes
The regular meeting of the Vestry of The Historic Church of the Epiphany was held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 6:03 pm
Presiding, Sr. Warden Gene Scarborough. Present was Fred Lupton (Clerk)
Vestry persons present were Christina Romero, Clay Young, JoAnn Riley, Terry Dufresne, Ken Gosnell, Gene Scarborough and Marli Drum
Absent: None
Meeting opened by Gene with a prayer
A quorum is present to officially conduct business
Devotion Conducted by JoAnn
Minutes from the previous regular Vestry meeting held on May 22, 2019 were presented
Motion to approve minutes by JoAnn, seconded by Clay
Minutes approved by voice vote, all ayes
Treasurers Report submitted
Moved by Marli to accept the Treasures report, seconded by Terry
Discussion: Clay asked about the restoration fund, some discussion ensued. Ken asked about the memorial fund and what it could be used for, more discussion ensued.
Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report Passed, all ayes
JR Warden Report
Two replacement dishwashers will be purchased by the ECW
Clay identified that the parish needs somewhere around 75 new Anglican prayer books at approximately $15 each when they finally come out in print. Via Clay, Fr. Marcus, asked if the Vestry thought individual parishioners would like to make memorial gifts to the church buying the books then having a nicely printed sticker inside the cover with their names on it? Clay thought the stickers would come from the printer. Various other logistical and cost topics were discussed about new prayer books. The exact price is unknown at this point.
A motion was made by Marli to purchase from ACNA approximately 75 prayer books using Memorial Fund Money, seconded by Ken.

Clay went on to say that replacement of the Ministry Century roof would cost approximately $20,000.
He wants to schedule a workday to deep clean the kitchen and pick up yard debris around the Parish House. Dates were discussed and July 13th was selected at 8:00 am

OLD BUSINESS
Christina brought up a motion that Option B be adopted by Vestry and included in the by-laws, seconded by Terry

A)Fred Lupton as Nominee to fill the soon to be vacant Treasure’s position
Discussion: Christina nominated Fred Lupton to fill the Treasurer’s position John Vergere will be leaving at the end of the month, Fred accepted the nomination.
A motion was made by Christine that Fred Lupton serve the balance of the year 2019 as Treasurer in place of the retiring John Vergere, Second by Terry

B)Christina Romero as Nominee to Fill the soon to be vacant Finance Committee Chair position
Gene nominated Christina to be the Finance Committee Chairperson in lieu of Fred giving up the position to become Treasurer, she accepted the nomination.
Gene made a motion to have Christina fill the Finance Committee Chair position vacated by Fred Lupton, as he was appointed Treasurer, for the remainder of 2019. Seconded by Terry, voted on and passed, all ayes

- The Search Committee is not ready to report out the survey results as it is still being looked at.

- Christina opened the discussion about the Chairperson’ position on the Jr Wardens property committee, Pg. 9, of the draft. She is going to have it reflective of the Diocesan Vestry Handbook

Other New Business
- Ken reported the Fish Fry Grossed $1,750, net will be approximately $1,335 Ken said he received a lot of positive responses to the fish fry
- The Vestry is looking into the various Jobs John Vergere was doing to see if qualified volunteers can be found to do some of the work
- John is to get hold of Norm McNair to conduct the 2018 audit
- Bishop Mark Visits July 11th. We need the survey results we also need questions for the Bishop when he arrives
