Vestry Minutes June 12, 2014
I. Prayer opened at 7pm by Father Tom, Connie was absent
II. Devotion, Rita Lupton from Max Lucado about God never giving up and our need for faith
III. Approval of minutes, moved by Jerry, second by Marli all aye
IV. Treasurer’s Report accepted by motion by Robert, second by Jerry all aye
a. Information was passed out listing the past four weeks of check writing activity with some questions and concerns voiced
b. Concerns raised about the cost of our endowment, fees paid to brokers, discussion about the merits of an advisor
V. Old Business
a. Morning Prayer
i. July 13, John Vergere, August 17, Marli Drum
ii. November 9, Clay Young, Connie previous Saturdays
b. Golf outing scheduled for November 1
i. Discussion on change of purpose, including restoration Parish House
1. A motion was made by Rita and second by Clay to not change the purpose of the golf outing and to keep it just for local charities, motion passed 5-3
c. Parish House Tea Room status
i. Linda and Mike, relatively current in the payments
ii. Physical structure, inspection was held last week and the roof replacement is our first priority, Robert will get quotes and email vestry for vote. After the roof, the porches are second.
iii. Robert report on talk with Ron Nester, Nester will talk with Orangeburg County and get back to Robert with ideas.
d. Landscape, Marli & Richard Drum have taken this task, Robert and Father Tom both praised Richard and Marli for their effort and work on the grounds.
e. Concern was expressed for the floor in the sanctuary and an inspection is being considered
VI. New Business, there was no new business, next meeting scheduled for September
